Artists
Caroline was born in Sydney, Australia and is currently an artist resident at the Florence Trust in London. She studied at the National Art School, Australia’s oldest visual arts institute which has a rich tradition of art practice. She completed her BFA in painting and photography in 2002.
She is interested in the interplay between photography and painting. Truth and memory are recurring themes found in her work. “We often rely on photography to capture a faithful memory or truth of the world outside, but it fails to convey tactile memory, the feeling of touch that painting can bring. Painting can describe something that is primitive and within. I’m interested in the dialogue between these two mediums.”
Caroline has won several awards and was a Finalist in the Paddington Art Prize for Landscape Painting. She has contributed to more than 25 solo and group exhibitions from Sydney to New York. Her work features in private collections and she has been involved in extensive community projects and publications.
